Commission work is an opportunity to integrate my highest creative and problem solving abilities with the desires of a client for a unique artwork in a particular location. I will discuss the client's aesthetic desires or ideas as well as timeline and budgetary requirements. A proposal is then made with presentation of material samples and mockup, if necessary. Once agreement is reached on these particulars, I move forward to complete the process.
Commissions are based upon a process, rather than a drawing of exacting detail to be followed.The process of creating a glass artwork is outlined, and an idea of the completed piece is painted. However, in the process of creating, changes to materials may be necessary or methods may need to evolve, thus affecting the final project. This process is challenging, invigorating, and essential to capture the moment and solidify, subtle emotional decisions and qualities. We have completed installations for a variety of businesses in New England, including medical centers and schools. Stained glass lampshades and dichroic glass mirrors are only some of the decorative pieces created in Peabody Studio. Our decorative dichroic glass tiles are available for home or office installation. We also design unique glass awards for organizations. Our glass awards are an excellent solution for your business or community group's annual award presentation, a departing Board President, or employee recognition. We can custom etch logos, photos, and text onto the glass to create unique awards. Glass awards are trimmed in copper tape and mounted in a hardwood base. Contact us for your special needs.
